Cinergy Health Preferred Plans: Questions to Ask Yourself before the Purchase
Cinergy Health Preferred Plans can be purchased by employers, employees, and individuals who cannot afford the high premium of other major health plans. This particular health plan is designed for people who are not in need of critical health care. Some of us would like to have our most common family health needs covered without worrying about extremely expensive premiums that come with critical or major health plans. Before you purchase the Health Preferred Plans, though, you should consider these things first.
Can you afford the health care on your own?
The health preferred plans cover a limited range of doctor’s visits, wellness check-ups, hospital stays, preventive tests, surgical procedures, pregnancy, ICU, medical accidents, emergency room visits, and more. To be more specific, it pays for your “first visit” to these health care services down to the last dollar with no deductibles.
The first thing you need to look at when you’re considering a health preferred plan is the most expensive medical fee you’re probably going to have to pay one day if an emergency does turn up. Most likely, you won’t be able to pay for an emergency medical fee straight out of your pocket if such an incident were to arise.
It’s an all-win situation, anyway, when you purchase a Cinergy Health Preferred Plan because the monthly premiums are very low. With the wide coverage of health services included in this plan, you won’t ever have to worry about making unexpected health care expenses in the future. It’s the best health plan to have in hand if you simply can’t afford financial surprises.
Is my doctor or hospital part of Cinergy’s Nationwide Network?
You should also ask your family doctor or hospital if they honor Cinergy Health plans for their services. After all, this card is useless if the hospital or doctor you’re seeing regularly is not a part of the insurance company’s network of health care providers. It’s highly likely, though, that the doctor or hospital you’re affiliated with is linked to Cinergy. The insurance company is honored by most hospitals across the nation. Still, check if your health care provider is a member of this network first, just to be on the safe side. If not, you might have to transfer to another hospital or doctor.
Will the plan cover a pre-existing health problem?
If you’ve been diagnosed with diabetes before you purchased the plan, you should inquire is the health care for this condition is also covered in the Preferred Health Plan. Most insurance companies don’t cover pre-existing health conditions, but Cinergy’s Preferred Health Plan doesn’t require any physical examinations prior to the granting of the plan. Almost anyone can avail of this plan as long as they can afford the monthly premium. It also complements whatever major medical plan you may already have.
Cinergy preferred health plan covers the first doctor’s visit for any health concerns including pre-existing health problems. The succeeding visits, however, won’t be covered by this plan. You may need to use a Critical Health Care Plan for the succeeding doctor’s visits. The Cinergy Health Preferred Plan is a good buffer for emergencies. It will buffer your initial medical expenses, but since it’s a limited health insurance, it can’t support you all throughout.
